Nutty Lynn’s Crunchy Granola

June 9, 2014 By Lynn 2 Comments

GRAAANN–OOO-LLAAA.  That’s a fun word to say.  Ha!  I love to eat granola with milk, over yogurt and fresh fruit, or over a smoothie in a bowl with some honey drizzled over the top.   Making granola is kind of relaxing to me too.   I hope you enjoy!

Crunchy Granola Recipe- YUM!

-Nutty Lynn’s Crunchy Granola-

 Pre-heat oven to 275.

Mix all of the following into a large bowl:

5 cups rolled oats

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup slivered almonds

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

1/4 cup yellow raisins

1/2 cup wheatgerm

1 tablespoon ground flax-seed

Set the aside

In a separate small glass bowl mix the following:

1 1/2 cups of brown sugar

1/2 cup water

Place in microwave on high for 4-5 minutes.  Cook until sugar is dissolved.  Remove from microwave a mix in:

5 teaspoons  of vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Pour over dry ingredients.  Mix until everything is covered with liquid.  Then place a piece of tin foil on a large cookie sheet and spread granola over it evenly.

Cook at 275 degrees for 45 minutes -1 hour.  Leave on cookie sheet to cool, then store in an airtight container.

Eat and Enjoy!

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
