Circle Round the Baby

December 22, 2018 By Lynn 2 Comments

I love decorating for Christmas, but I love to do it alone mostly.  I thoroughly enjoy hanging the garlands, trimming the tree, arranging the mantle…. all. by. myself. I know that kinda sounds awful coming from a mom of 5 kids. Ha! I should want to include them….but I don’t. Maybe I will learn to. The one thing I don’t mind sharing is setting up the nativities. I actually urge my kids to take one and set the pieces how they want. I love seeing how and where they put each person and animal without my input. Almost every child will place every piece of the nativity in a circle around baby Jesus. Try it. It’s pretty cool. Each piece perfectly placed to face the sweet new baby. The Prince of Peace swaddled tenderly in a humble manger.

I wanted to share with you my nativity collection. It’s not huge, but I think it is worth a little look. 🙂 I love having this all around my house to help remind all of us about the true meaning of Christmas.

Can you spot them?! I have 5 down here. This is a kid friendly zone to all that are in reach of children are safe to touch.

The colorful one from Jim Shore is one of my favorites. My mother in law gave it to me the first Christmas after Devan and I were married.

I just want you to know how much you have inspired me. I lost my husband 2 years ago and have felt numb and lost ever since. My daughter recently was married and now I am alone …ALONE.
I love crafting and want to find something to start making that I can enjoy making that people would love as well. Not sure if I will make a lot of money with it, but it will fill my time. Any suggestions would be welcome! 🥰 btw congrats on your new little one and thank you for inviting and allowing us in your life. You are definitely a bright spot for me!
    Blessings,
    Linda

Linda! That means so much to me to hear that. And I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine, but I am sending you a giant virtual hug. Thank you for taking the time to tell me that I have helped in some way. That just made my week! I think I would just suggest starting with the medium that brings you the most joy- sewing, painting, or whatever you are drawn to then find yourself a niche creating something unique in that area. Blessings to you as well!!! – Much love, Lynn

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
