Bright Christmas Decor and Lace Garland

December 12, 2016 By Lynn 12 Comments

Bright Christmas Decor and Lace Garland

When it comes to Christmas decor- do what your heart desires. BRIGHT COLORS?! ALL WHITE?! If it’s speaking to you and making you happy, that is all that matters. There should be no rules when it comes to decorating for Christmas. Put up all the garlands! Use all the colors! Or don’t. It’s a merry holiday and you should decorate accordingly. 🙂 That’s what I think any way.

Here are some pictures of my house this year and the bright colorful direction we went with.

Inside and out is happy and colorful this year. I want to create magical feelings for my kids and smiles for those visiting.

So we went cheery with our color scheme. 🙂

One of the things I get asked about all the time are these lace garlands I have around my home. GUYS! They are so easy to make!

You only need a couple of things.

-A rotary cutter, mat, and guide.

-Old lace curtains from a thrift store.

-Rope or cording to tie your lace onto.

Cut your lace into 4×10 inch pieces then simply tie them onto your cording.

Tie a single knot, pull tight and slide it down. REPEAT! It’s that easy. It is a bit time consuming so get a nice drink and your favorite show ready.

Before you know it you will have a beautiful garland that you can use all year long.

Cut your lace into 4×10 inch pieces then simply tie them onto your cording. Good Luck! Type Lace into the search bar and there is a full tutorial on making them.

All the instructions should be in the post. I like to cut my lace pieces 4 inches by 10 inches and you simply tie them in a knot onto a piece of rope. Good luck! Happy crafting!
