Tyler’s Run – San Diego

April 24, 2016 By Lynn 2 Comments

San Diego Fun Run- Tyler's Run

A couple years ago this beautiful family lost their sweet little boy suddenly. As a way to remember, Tyler, this happy energetic toddler they have started to put on a Fun Run and Toddler Tumble.

Each year they choose a cause to donate all the proceeds to. Kim (The mom and a friend of mine) called me after hearing about Charlie’s tumor and the clothing collection we were doing and asked if the proceeds from this year’s run could go toward what we were doing with the clothing. I was thrilled! I cried.  (You can read about why we decided to collect clothes for Primary Children’s Hospital HERE)

Kim and her Husband are a big inspiration to me in many ways. I am so impressed with how they found a way to honor their son and put good back into the world after enduring this tragedy.

If you live near San Diego I would love for you to come out with your family to support this family and Children’s Hospital.

The Run is May 21st at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. You can sign up online by clicking HERE

San Diego Fun Run- Tyler's Run

I am working on a post about what happened with Charlie and what I learned from it…but it’s a little harder than I thought…so that might be a little while. But! She is doing so good! Her tumor was cancer BLAH! But, her tumor was removed and did not spread anywhere else in her body. Her tumor has a small chance of returning over the next few years. And, if it does it will most likely come back in the same area of her body. We feel like she is in good hands with the doctors we saw at Children’s and we now know what to look for while we monitor her over the next couple of years. She is back to being a healthy normal kid right now. She’s gained her weight back, no more bloody noses, no more night sweats- a number of other things she was dealing with have disappeared since having her tumor removed. We are so grateful.

I can honestly say I know what it feels like to be prayed for and prayed over by others. Your prayers have literally held me up on days I didn’t think I could handle. I know God is real and hears us. My heart goes out to all the families who are facing this ugly disease and other hardships with their beautiful little children. You are in my prayers.

Much Love- Lynn

Goodness…I know how this feels. I’m so sorry your sweet Charlie has had to deal with dumb cancer. She’s so lucky to have such a wonderful family to support her. I’ll keep her in my prayers that she will recover emotionally as well, and that she won’t have recurrence. 😘😘

Hallway Bookrack – Small Space Solutions

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
