February 12, 2016 By Lynn 1 Comment

I have a lot of people ask me if they can buy this lace garland from me…haha! I always smile and respond, “No, but I can tell you how to make one!”

So after many requests here is the “how to” for you! IT IS EASY! Hence it falls into my Easy Friday DIY line-up.

You will need to buy two things- Old lace curtains or table clothes from a thrift store AND 15ft long rope from Home Depot. The rope should be about as thick as your pinkie finger. Then all you need is to wash the lace in your washing machine and cut it into strips about 8-10 inches long by 2-3 inches thick. You using a rotary blade and mat would probably we the best way to go.

Then all you need to do is turn on a movie and sit and tie knots! Left over right, right over left- makes a square knot neat and tight! Next piece!

Slide the knots close together.

Do that over and over again until you have a beautiful lace garland that you can now use for any holiday.

Watch your back while your doing this….kids be sneaking stuff while mom is busy crafting!Sshe’s sneaking cheese sticks! Ha! Sneaky little midget. I love her confidence.

I use this garland for almost every holiday and in different parts of my home.

I add things to it depending on the holiday. For Halloween I added some black feather boas and gold Christmas garland. Spooky!!

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
