Ever want something so bad, but you just can’t bring yourself to spend the amount being asked?!?!! ย I am sure ALL the time! Right?! I feel like that happens to me a lot, especially if I know I could make it myself…which brings my to this DIY project. I saw a darling gold and white tulle bed skirt on a website -that shall remain nameless ๐ It was $145 for a twin bed skirt, GLUP! I am sorry, but even if I could afford that, I just could not allow myself to buy a bed skirt for $145 to put in a 3 year old’s room. Maybe I am cheap…but I just couldn’t do it! So I ran to JoAnn Fabrics for HOPE. The hope that I could find some tulle cute enough to calm my troubled soul. Ha! I promise it wasn’t that dramatic. ๐
JoAnn’s had some pretty off-white tulle with gold glitter on it. PERFECT! I then ran over to Target and got one of the plain white bed skirts from the Shabby Chic line that they have.
I had my tulle cut about 2 ft longer than the twin size skirt so that I could create a ruffled tulle skirt. I gathered bits of the tulle and pinned it directly to the pre-made bed skirt. It was very easy to sew on, but glitter got everywhere!! Hahaha! My husband loved that. ๐
Glitter everywhere or not, this turned out SUPER cute for little Miss Ruby’s “big girl” room.
Full room reveal will be next week!! It is a really cute and happy room. ๐ ย To see Ruby’s old nursery click HERE!
How much tulle did you use for this?
I love the bed skirt! Where did you find the comforter/quilt?
It is from Beddys.com ๐
So adorable!!
I have been wanting to make one for the daybed in the guestroom. It’s my shabby chic room.
