This is The Place

This is the Place- Family Outing

On Saturday we took our family up to This Is The Place in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have fun Halloween family activities this time of year and we wanted to check it out. We had a WONDERFUL time with our kids! It was a beautiful atmosphere and was relaxing- no big crowds or long lines. Just what we needed! The kids had a blast at the candy cannon, touching reptiles, riding horses, exploring the little town, learning a little about Mormon settlers, eating delicious mini donuts, and mostly running from building to building collecting candy.

The Halloween days at This Is The Place is called -Little Haunts. It runs Oct. 13, 18-20 & 27. And as a few of my readers know, I LOVE Halloween, but some of my children do not.  Little Haunts is a “not so scary” kid friendly event for the entire family!  With the knowledge that they wouldn’t be freaked out by something (and donuts were involved) my kids were excited to go.

Each Saturday they have special guests:
Heroic Utah on the 13th
Dancing with the DJ 20th
Star Wars group the 27th

There are also tons of activities for all ages.
Pumpkin roll
Candy Cannon
Story Telling by our witch
Costume Parade
Creature Encounters
Games
Alice the Dragon

At each of the buildings the kids could read a some of the towns history and about people who once lived here then head inside the buildings for some trick or treating.

We explored old homes, a bank, a farm, an old blacksmith building, a school, hotel, and more!

You can even hop on a train for a little tour around the town.

Hallway Bookrack – Small Space Solutions

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
