October Craft Night!

October 7, 2016 By Lynn Leave a Comment

Craft Night with Lynn from Pocketful of Paint

I love crafting with other people and sharing in friendship that way. Some of my best conversations with friends (new and old) have happened during the process of a craft. You can laugh at your mess ups, praise at a finished product, and sometimes just get that good girl stuff off your chest to an understanding ear. Crafting brings people together. And I believe crafting is part of each of us. We are meant to create and use our hands. Something amazing happens when we create with our own two little hands. One of the things I love most about crafting is teaching other people they can do it too! Often we get soo caught up about just STARTING a project…whether time or fear constrain us…I think starting AND finishing can be our biggest hold ups in the creative process. At my craft nights my goal is to get you started and help you finish in one night. I try to always have craft kits that will teach you a new skill and that you will be able to be finished in one night.

This month I have assembled some fun crafts from a few different mediums.

As most of you know I began sign making with rubber letters a couple of years ago. This month I am teaching some of my tricks and sharing my love of rubber art with you! We will be cutting and creating rubber feathers on a reclaimed wood backing.

I will also be teaching about leather crafting- which I have just recently discovered and is SO much fun! We will be creating these leather wall hangings. Paint is optional.

You can even add a laser cut “Thanks” for some stylish Thanksgiving decor. These are available on a first come first serve bases the night of. They are $1 each.

And lastly this witch plaque. That makes an awesome front door hanger. The backing and witch silhouette are two separate pieces you will paint and assemble.

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
