The Piano’s Facelift- The Transformation!

March 28, 2016 By Lynn Leave a Comment

Okay! So, on the last post you saw the before pictures (Click HERE to read about that) and the prep work that went into this beauty. You itching to see what happens next?!!??? Oh, it’s so pretty.

After it was all ready for paint, I handed it over to Kenna to work her magic. Kenna was at my house painting for about 9-10 hours over the span of 2 days. Check out the transformation!

Kenna owner of Latest Lovely Design paints, builds, and designs furniture! I told her about the look I was after and she made it happen. It is even prettier than I expected it would be.

As you read in the Beginning Stages post – I bought Annie Sloan paint from Drab 2 Fab in Lehi. We used Paris Grey and Graphite for the paint colors and then the dark wax to finish off the piano. The ladies at Drab 2 Fab are VERY helpful and will show you paint colors and all the stuff you need to know before getting started on a project like this.

Kenna started out painting the whole piano Paris Grey. After one coat of that she started on the Graphite color. Graphite from Annie Sloan is like a nice charcoal grey. It can be lighter or darker depending on the wax you use.

We decided the dark wax was perfect for the look I was after.

That’s Kenna (in above picture) she was awesome to work with. If you are interested in her painting a piano or piece of furniture for you, you can e-mail her at LatestLovelyDesign at gmail.com or find her on Instagram @latestlovelydesign OR in her Etsy shop.

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
