Geometric Garage

July 1, 2015 By Lynn 1 Comment

After moving into my new house my mind was racing with ideas of how I wanted to decorate everything.  So many projects I want to do! But, those things all need to be thought out and then dialed back and thought out again….so in the mean time to calm my creative bug- BAM! Garage wall makeover. I wanted to have our garage professionally painted, buuuuttt I didn’t want to pay the moola for it. 🙂 So, I thought let’s do something fun and crazy. Let’s get the neighbors talking hehe…We owned our house in San Diego and I loved decorating it making it ‘my’ home.  After renting the last four years here in Utah and living is someone else’s space- I was dying to just paint a wall again!  I may have gone a little nuts on my first wall. 😉

The garage looked like this before- blah…normal boring garage walls.

Now with the use of my handy laser level (the laser level is a must for this project) the wall is ooolala!

I spend a lot of time in the garage cutting wood and making signs-  this is something fun to look at while I’m out there. While my two year old was napping; my 5 year old and 7 year old helped me tackle the wall. We painted the wall white first and let it dry. During out weekly trip to Home Depot we picked up some fun paint colors and blue painters tape.

When the kids were in bed for the night I mapped out the shapes with the laser level and blue tape.

I love the laser level.  I use it way more than I thought I would- it is a must have tool.

Give your garage some love this summer. I think on the other wall I might do something crazy and colorful too 🙂 Why not?! Let’s have FUN!!

    Hey Lynn,

That’s looks absolutely fabulous, great job with the painting! I guess the laser level was a great help, indeed 🙂 Great blog, keep up the good work!

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
