We love books around here!

A list of must have children's books - Pocketful of Paint blog

We all have our own personal favorites, but as a whole, these are a few of our family favorites.   I love to read each of these books and my kids agreed that these were some of the best ones we have.  Most of these you have probably heard of but, hopefully, I can introduce you to a new book or two.  🙂

The llama llama Books, by Anna Dewdney

You can see that this book has been well loved.  🙂  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault.

This book is loved by the 1 year old up to the 6 year old.   It’s a staple, must have, a good one!

One that’s more for the older crowd in the fam, but deeply loved is The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein

Another heart clincher.  It’s hard to read without getting a little teary eyed.  🙂  It’s beautiful.

Someday, by Alison Meghee and Peter H. Reyonlds

This book makes us all laugh and then get warm fuzzies at the end.  Leonardo the Terrible Monster, by Mo Willems

Skippyjon Jones, by Judy Schachner.  Have you read these books?!  So much fun and imagination.

The Value Tale books by Spencer Johnson- all of them are fabulous.  These stories from history are in my kids brains now!  They are each inspiring and educational.

The Thingumajig Books.  HILARIOUS!  You will be warning your kids to not act like a Thingumajig by the end of the book… and they will listen! Nobody wants to be a Thingumajig. 🙂

Now I am thinking of like 10 other books I need to tell you about!!  I love children’s books.

When were moved into our home the basement was not finished, but it was partially framed. One of those framed walls was a little funky. It did not line up with the other “walls” it would meet up with. I wasn’t sure how to make it work with the room behind it. At the same […]
